CNP S. R. O. Is a Czech company, founded in 1991, involved in the design, manufacture and sale of a wide range of traditional Czech crafts. The company was founded as a chain of original stores selling wooden toys and a wide range of traditional Czech crafts from historical houses in the centre of Prague. One of our most important objectives is to preserve the roots of these traditional crafts and present Czech and Moravian crafts on the level they deserve. Interior design of our shops is based on old furniture and other paraphernalia reminiscent of the kitchens and common rooms in the cottages of our great grandmothers or, long forgotten tools and instruments excitedly discovered by their owners under years of dust in their attics. To a certain degree our stores also fulfil an educational function as products are accompanied by information on the history of the craft in question or a description of the custom associated with the product. Our company took over collaboration with most workshops and leading artisans. In 1998, the company also began manufacturing high quality, glycerine soaps at the Kadlec Soap Works in Liben, a factory that dates back to period between the two world wars. Our soaps are noted for their high degree of hand labour, ecology, quality and natural active ingredients. The continuing sale of unique traditional crafts is assured by their presentation in the beautiful setting of our stores in the historic centre of Prague. We also help popularise traditional crafts by holding regular press conferences and forums with ethnographers, historians, etc. In 1999, we launched the Internet server, devoted to Czech traditions and crafts. We are also successfully developing foreign contacts. Inspired by our stores, we began a collaborative project with Japanese partners on a representative exposition of traditional crafts in Kagoshima, where, as well as the crafts themselves, our company was also responsible for the entire project and realisation of the interiors. In recent years, our company has taken part in several international trade fairs, representing the Czech Republic under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. In 1995, Cesky narodni podnik S. R. O. Was awarded the Czech Made prize for service quality.
